Cisco supports Mocoa

Give Now

Cisco knows that amazing things can happen when people connect - a disaster victim reunites with a loved one, a farmer grows new crops on a once-destroyed field, and a family works with others in their community to rebuild their home and their life. That's why Cisco is inviting employees to donate to Mercy Corps' Humanitarian Response Fund - and matching every dollar to double their impact and provide ongoing support to help those displaced by mudslides, earthquakes and other disasters.

Mercy Corps has responded to almost every major natural disaster in the last 20 years, and their seasoned emergency responders work through conflict, distribute critical supplies and protect families uprooted by ongoing violence or displaced by disaster.

Mercy Corps has worked in Putumayo, Colombia for 11 years, and is coordinating with the government and other humanitarian organizations to fill gaps in response to the devastating mudslides in Mocoa. Your donation to their Humanitarian Response Fund will help those affected by disasters around the world - here are some examples of how every dollar we contribute helps communities survive, and transform crisis into opportunity:

  • $15 can provide shelter, a first aid kit and hygiene supplies to a family in the wake of a natural disaster.
  • $25 can supply emergency school kits so children at temporary schools in South Sudan have resources for effective learning so their education isn’t stalled by conflict
  • $50 can provide a woman-led Somalia household of six people with two weeks' subsistence by providing essential services and goods like food, water and hygiene items
  • $80 can provide one month of critical humanitarian assistance to a family displaced by armed conflict in Colombia
  • $100 can help provide shelter to a family who lost their home to a conflict

On behalf of the men, women and children who are counting on our support — thank you.
